Our Studio

At Yoga Maui &  Inferno Hot Pilates Maui, we believe in the power of mindful movement, sweating for longevity and improving your quality of life in our supportive community. Stewarded by Amber Strasser —one of Maui’s most experienced and inspiring instructors—our studio is dedicated to helping you build strength, flexibility, and resilience in body and mind.

Our Mission:
To inspire and support your wellness journey through expert instruction, compassionate community, and the transformative practices of BikramMethod Yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates.

Amber’s journey began in 1991,  inspired by the healing and empowerment she found through BikramMethod Yoga. She has been practicing the yoga full time since 1991, has been teaching BikramMethod Yoga full time since 2001, Inferno Hot Pilates since 2017, and has owned and lead BikramMethod Studios since 2003. Her vision is to create a welcoming space where everyone, regardless of age or ability, can discover their potential and feel at home.

Our Classes

BikramMethod Yoga Beginning Series (26&2)

The original 90-minute sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, practiced in a perfectly heated room. Ideal for all levels—no experience or flexibility required. This challenging and therapeutic class systematically works every part of your body from the inside out, promoting detoxification, strength, and clarity.

BikramMethod Yoga PowerHour Series (26&2)

This 60 minute class is a leveling up of the original BikramMethod Beginning series. It is designed as a first step towards the BikramMethod Advanced Series. It combines all 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises as more of a flow and in the order of the BikramMethod Advanced Series. Please be familiar with the BikramMethod Beginning Series before attending this class. All Levels of proficiency are welcome.

BikramMethod Yoga PowerHourPlus Series

This 75 minute class is a second step towards the BikramMethod Advanced Series. It incorporates all of the PowerHour series and adds more of the advanced postures series’. Please be familiar with the BikramMethod Beginning Series and the PowerHour Series before attending this class. All Levels of proficiency are welcome.

Inferno Hot Pilates

A high-intensity, low-impact workout that fuses high intensity interval training with Pilates Principles. Inferno Hot Pilates targets your core, tones your muscles, and boosts your metabolism—all while being gentle on your joints. Expect energizing music, motivating teachers, and a supportive group vibe. All levels of proficiency are welcome.

Your First Class: What to Expect

Arrive Early: Please come 15–20 minutes before class to check in, meet your instructor, and settle in.

What to Bring: Yoga mat, large towel, water bottle, shower towel, and a change of clothes. Mat Rentals and water, towel purchases are available.

Dress Light: Wear comfortable light clothing—you’ll sweat!

Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before and after class, as well as in class as needed.

Try not to eat too much or consume caffeine before class. Nothing bad will happen, but you may be more uncomfortable than necessary.  Everything tastes better after class anyway !

No Experience Needed: All bodies and backgrounds and ages are welcome—just bring your willingness to try.  Your daily best is always perfectly enough!

Do I need to be flexible or fit?

No! Our classes are designed for all levels. Progress comes with steady practice.

What if I need to rest?

Listen to your body! You’re encouraged to take breaks as you need, drink water as you need through the entire class.

How often should I come?

For truly transformative results we recommend 3-4 times per week, however, even once a week will make a huge difference in the quality of your life outside of the yoga room … and isn’t that the goal of any life enhancing practice!

How hot is the room?

The classic BikramMethod Yoga Beginning class was in a forced air heating system at 105 degrees fahrenheit/41 degrees celsius. Yoga Maui uses infrared heating panels so your body will heat up from the inside out rather than through inhaling hot air. Because of this the temperature of the panels and the room is lower. This type of heat is also cleaner, healthier, and you will sweat more.
